About half as strong as medium-strength steel screws,these screws can be used for light duty fastening applications, such as securing access panels. Length of screw is measured from under the head.

Zinc-plated steel screws are 10 times more corrosion resistant than zinc-plated screws. They have a thicker coating than other finishes: to ensure compatibility, use these screws with Zinc-plated steel nuts. The bolts have a thread of 1/4-20 and a length of 1.

Match the thread spacing of mating components.Fine and extra-fine threads are closely spaced to prevent loosening from vibration: the finer the thread, the better the resistance. Screws that meet ASTM A307 or SAE J429 comply with specifications and testing requirements for material quality. Screws that meet ASME B18.2.1 or ASME B18.6.3 comply with specifications for dimensional standards.
